Penguin Clash Promotional Art - 2D Art

These were the sketches and promotional art pieces I made for a 6-week project with an external client. We were tasked to create a piece of media (preferably a game) and implement monsters in them which were designed by children. I was one of the two artists working on the characters themselves, of which I did most of the 2D art, retopologising, rigging and animating. The other artist and our art director was Nena Leferink, she created the style sheet, character sculpts, a large part of the environment and helped me with rigging and animating when needed.

Concepts and sketches for sculpting of Chloe (Left) and her sister Cherry (right).
Cherry's bow got added to make them look more like siblings, but later got removed after feedback from the child that designed them.

Cherry pop's coloured sketch was drawn by Nena, meaning I don't have a reference board for it.

Concepts and sketches for sculpting of Slamey (left) and the player.
In our game you play as a penguin and collect the monsters, who act as power-ups. We chose this to be a penguin because the children's class name was "The Penguins".
